Investing in the future
In the 19th century, the founding of College redefined girls’ education and our reputation spread nationally and globally. We are committed to continuing our pioneering role in the education of young women, offering them outstanding choice in both the academic and co-curricular spheres, to ensure that they are prepared to take their place in an increasingly complex and challenging world.
In order to maintain the quality of this exceptional and historic learning environment, we are making an investment in our facilities and estate that is second only in scale to that of our founders. The boarding refurbishment programme is now in its fourth year, with two junior houses fully refurbished and significant improvements being made to others.
Over the next decade we plan to establish a bursary endowment fund and invest in two major capital projects – a new Health and Fitness Centre and a bespoke STEM facility.
Building work has commenced on our new Health and Fitness Centre and the facility is due to open in early 2018. In addition to the current sports hall and pool, it will feature:
- A new sports hall
- A multi-purpose activity studio
- A multi-purpose dance studio
- 5 squash courts / multi-purpose studio spaces
- A 58-station fitness gym with free weights & spin area and a rowing & erg area
