Sixth Form Fair
6th December 2023

On Friday 24th November, UC5 students and parents had the fantastic opportunity to hear all about the exciting options on offer in the Sixth Form at College and to inform their future choices.

In the morning, parents attended two panels, one on the International Baccalaureate and another general session covering A Level courses, life in the Sixth Form and much more. Panels were hosted by Dr Gamblin (Vice Principal Academic), with input from Mr Sumner (Head of Sixth Form), Ms Saunders (IB Coordinator), Miss Ralph (Head of Pastoral Care) and many others. The most sage advice, however, came from the current SFC2 students who talked about their own experiences, from subject choices through to their university applications. All reflected on the value of keeping open minds, seeking expert advice and following your passions. It was wonderful to hear.

The highlight of the day was the subject fair in the afternoon. Academic departments went above and beyond in showcasing their subjects, from dressing up to exhibiting examples of superb work from current SFC pupils. Students and parents were able to talk to subject specialists, tutors and the Professional Guidance Centre team in thinking about their next steps.

The UC5s are an impressive group with so many possibilities ahead of them after the completion of their GCSEs. We cannot wait to see how they continue to develop and thrive at College over the coming years.
