It is important that College supports each student in striking a successful balance between academic and co-curricular activity. Our provision in this area is exciting and well-resourced, with over 150 co-curricular activities available. We believe that education is broader than the confines of a classroom, so the vast majority of these are provided as part of life at College, at no extra cost.
We understand that every girl is an individual, and that talent and potential lie within each one of us. Everyone is encouraged to 'have a go', whatever their level of ability, offering pupils the chance to experience new opportunities and find an activity that suits. There is no fixed formula for the number and type of activities that each pupil can do, but most settle into a combination of perhaps two to three weekly activities outside of normal teaching time.
Most co-curricular activities run weekly throughout the three terms, although some are more seasonal or weather dependent. Some take place away from College, and transportation is provided to and from these activities.
The co-curricular programme is based around the students’ enthusiasms, meaning that some clubs do not run every year if the demand changes. Below are some examples of the co-curricular activities that have been on offer over the last few years, grouped by type.
