"A year-long co-curricular project in which all students in LC3 will be developing oracy skills through a sequence of activities, talks, group work and competition." - Mr Matt Gill, Assistant Head Academic
A brand new initiative for LC3s started in September 2024, the focus of Project Green is on oral communication, enabling students to become more confident and charismatic speakers and debaters.
CLC is committed to equipping our students with the skills needed to succeed beyond College, and Project Green will develop LC3s’ communication, presentation and team work skills at the point at which they are starting to think about their next steps.
In small groups over the course of a year, students will take part in workshops on presenting, self-reflection and oracy, and work together to research and produce a group presentation they will deliver to an audience of staff, students and parents in the competition final.
By the end of Project Green, all will have gained new research and debating skills, and be able to communicate with clarity, charisma and confidence.
As they work on Project Green, students will also be completing the criteria for a CREST Bronze Award. CREST is a scheme that inspires young people to think like scientists and engineers, and by recording their reflections and submitting their final presentations, students will be eligible for the Bronze Award in the 'Communication Project' category.
