Biennial Woodwind and Brass Prizes
7th March 2024

The biennial Woodwind and Brass Prizes took place on Monday 26th February. It was a memorable and special day full of exceptional performances with every student giving their all.

Our adjudicator Keith Slade (clarinet player, former Young Musician of the Year Woodwind finalist, conductor, Head of Woodwind at Solihull School and previously Head of Woodwind at Oakham School) gave workshop-style feedback on performance technique which was hugely beneficial and informative for all the participants. The warm atmosphere created by the girls showing genuine support for each other was heart-warming.

A huge thank you to our brilliant accompanists: Fiona Beck, Fiona Brown, David Jones, David Lloyd and Havilland Willshire as well as all the teachers in the Wind and Brass faculty, who have supported and encouraged all the students to take part in record numbers and to achieve a performance they can be proud of. Congratulations to our winners and everyone who took part.
