At the beginning of February, SFC1 and SFC2 Biologists were invited to take part in the British Biology Olympiad competition. Over 40 students took part with some fantastic results.
The competition consisted of two, 45-minute multiple-choice papers. Students were presented with topics and ideas which they were not familiar with, testing their problem-solving skills and understanding of core principles.
We had four students achieve a Gold award which were Susu, Ludmilla (SFC2), Chalsie, and Elise (SFC1), alongside eight pupils achieving silver and eight bronze.
These are a really impressive set of results. From the 15,000 students that took part from 900 schools worldwide, the top 15% achieve a bronze, top 10% achieve a silver and only the top 5% achieve a Gold award.
Our Gold award winners have been invited to try for National Team selection which will take place in March. We wish them luck.
