CLC awarded ‘Top UK IB independent girls’ boarding school 2023'
5th March 2024

We’re delighted that Cheltenham Ladies’ College has been awarded ‘Top UK IB independent girls’ boarding school 2023' by Best Schools.

The IB Class of 2023 achieved an average point score of 39.1, broadly equivalent to three A* grades at A Level and significantly higher than the average points globally (30.24 points). More than a third of CLC IB students scored the highest possible grade of 7 across all of their Higher Level subjects, and over half of the cohort scored 40+ points.

Eve Jardine-Young, Principal: "We are delighted to receive this award. I am extremely proud of the hard work of the class of 2023; throughout their time at College, they showed determination and a true commitment to learning. I would also like to thank our staff for their unstinting support and encouragement of our IB pupils."

In recent months, we were also extremely proud to have been named Southwest Independent School of the Year for Academic Performance 2024 in the Sunday Times Parent Power Schools Guide, which ranks independent schools in the UK based on their overall public exam results. This is the fourth consecutive year that CLC has achieved an award from the Sunday Times Parent Power Schools Guide and follows on from CLC being named South West Independent School of the Decade by the publication in 2021.
