Congratulations to SFC1 students Zadie and Kaya, who won the Ellerslie Challenge Cup for Duologue Acting at this year’s Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts, in May.
This nationally renowned event takes place in the wonderful setting of Cheltenham Town Hall, and this is the second year running that College students have won this class. Kaya and Zadie’s names will be engraved below those of Meredith and Marina (SFC2) on this prestigious trophy.
Both students deserve huge credit, not only for their winning performance, but for making space in their busy schedules to prepare material and compete at the festival. This is a particularly demanding stage of the academic year for this year group, and it is testament to both of their time-management skills that they have balanced their many commitments so successfully.
Kaya said that she found the whole experience “really enjoyable and rewarding” and Zadie added, “performing outside of College in public was great fun and a really valuable experience.”
Good luck to both students, who complete their school drama careers when they take their LAMDA Grade 8 Gold Medal Duologue Acting exam this term.
