College’s first ever Giving Day, held on 28th and 29th June, raised an incredible £113,683! We would like to express our enormous thanks to the 357 donors who made this fundraising event a huge success.
Some fun challenges helped us to reach this total, including our 30 Donors Under 30 Challenge (thanks to Principal Eve Jardine-Young), 50 Staff Donors (thanks to Development Director Rebecca Ting), and our 175 Donors Halfway Challenge and 100 Parent Donors Challenge (thanks to Guild and Council Member Sara Putt). We would also like to thank our very generous anonymous donors who donated £30,000 in match funding.
Well done also to our Head of Upper College, Dr Gamblin, and Head of Lower College, Ms Woodhead, for bravely taking part in our Pink Hair Dye LC/UC Parents Challenge!
The funds raised will help us to expand our Beale Award (bursary) programme, allowing us to widen access to the transformative opportunity of a College education.
Ahead of Giving Day, we talked to some of our current and former Beale Award holders, to hear what they had to say about their experiences and life at CLC:
Forty-one per cent of CLC pupils receiving bursary and hardship funding receive 100% fee assistance. Our increased funding in this area will enable us to create life-changing opportunities for girls from all backgrounds.
We have received a number of generous donations following Giving Day, so we would also like to express our thanks to all those who have donated since. If you missed Giving Day and would still like to support the Beale Awards, please email the Development Office.
