CLC named one of the top independent schools in the world
12th March 2025

So far this academic year, we've been delighted to share that we have won several awards.

Today, we are pleased to announce that we have been named one of the Top 100 Independent Schools in the World in the upcoming Spear’s School Index 2025!

Prior to this, Cheltenham Ladies’ College was named Independent School of the Year for Academic Excellence in the Southwest 2025 by The Sunday Times. This marked the fifth year that CLC has won an award from The Sunday Times ‘Parent Power Guide’.

The award is based on CLC’s academic performance, when compared with all other independent secondary schools across the region. In 2024, we were delighted that CLC pupils achieved 70.4% A*/A at A Level, 70% 9/8/A* at GCSE, and an average point score of 39.3 for International Baccalaureate.

Finally, before the New Year, CLC was named top girls boarding school in the UK for the International Baccalaureate, placing us 6th in the UK rankings and 15th in the world.

The awards for excellence in academic achievement for the IB arise from the national and global league tables.

These awards are a testament to the hard work, dedication and passion for learning that all our staff and pupils put in every day.
