On Thursday 7th November, CLC welcomed Geoff Riley founder of Tutor2u and former Head of Economics at Eton College, for an engaging and thought-provoking talk on the prospects for the UK economy in the current uncertain times.
With over 70 enthusiastic economics students in attendance, Geoff shared his expert insights into the complexities and challenges facing the UK economy today. From inflationary pressures and interest rate adjustments, to global trade dynamics and shifting economic policies, his analysis provided a comprehensive overview of the factors shaping economic prospects in the UK.
Geoff’s ability to demystify complex topics while engaging his audience made the talk not only informative but also deeply inspiring. His emphasis on critical thinking and evidence-based analysis encouraged students to approach economic challenges with curiosity and confidence, fostering a deeper appreciation for the subject.
In addition to his keynote, Geoff generously stayed on to answer numerous questions about studying economics at university. He offered practical advice on course choices, career opportunities, and the skills needed to thrive in the ever-changing world of economics.
The event was a resounding success, leaving students inspired and better equipped to navigate both their academic journeys and the fascinating world of economics. A heartfelt thank you to Geoff Riley for sharing his time and expertise with our school community!
