The Black Country Living Museum was an unforgettable step back in time. It was a great day that was both educational and fun, leaving me with lots of lovely memories!
The museum, an outdoor display of life during the Industrial Revolution, is a collection of carefully reconstructed houses, shops and workplaces, all based off buildings of the era.
One of the highlights of my day was chatting with costumed characters who really brought the history to life. Their engaging stories (and commitment to character) made learning about the Black Country’s industrial heritage so interesting. I also very much enjoyed a bus ride with olden-day tickets and seats - it truly felt like stepping back in time!
The experience really came alive when I tried the legendary chips and bought some traditional sweets! Exploring the underground mine was both thrilling and humbling, offering insight into the harsh realities faced by miners. The museum’s interactive approach made it an amazing day out that really made us feel like we were in the Industrial Revolution.
