This year’s LC3 Scholar’s Recital was held in the PAC, forming part of the Saturday morning programme for the entire LC3 year group who made up a large part of the very enthusiastic audience.
Our seven Music Scholars in that year - Anya, Bianca, Carmel, Greta, Jonna, Maya and Nerissa – performed outstandingly well, with some even playing pieces on two different instruments.
Scholars’ Recitals provide an opportunity for the students to showcase their solo performing skills, and we heard music for piano, violin, flute, harp and saxophone covering a wide range of styles, from the delicacy of two Schubert Impromptus to the modal jazz-rock fusion of Phil Wood’s sax sonata.
The audience support and encouragement was wonderful, which must have greatly helped the performers conquer their understandable pre-concert nerves!
Mr Jones and Mr Carr provided any necessary piano accompaniments. Special thanks are also due to the instrumental teachers for helping to prepare the Scholars so well for this marvelous event.
