The annual May concert took place on Saturday 18th May on the Parabola Arts Centre stage. Thirteen students from LC3 and UC4 performed accomplished solos to a large audience.
Paloma (flute) opened the concert confidently with Taffanel’s Allegretto Grazioso
Mary (bassoon) charmed the audience with the slow 2nd movement from Vivaldi’s Concerto in A minor
Zara (oboe) captured the jaunty personality of her solo The Pretty Girls of Ballyroan
Janice (flute) demonstrated impressive technique in Poulenc’s Allegretto Malincolico
Andrea (piano) played the Scarlatti Sonata in D major with crystal clear clarity
Toby’s (viola) unaccompanied Bach Allemande was played with poise
Mia (flute) impressed with her characterful Rutter Jazz Waltz
Faith (violin) performed musically and with impressive control in Svendson’s Romance
Gloria’s (soprano) rendition of On my Own from Les Miserables was sincere and emotive
Sophia (flute) demonstrated her warm, rich tone in the opening movement of Bach’s Flute Sonata in E minor
Danielle (piano) performed a masterful interpretation of Chopin’s Waltz in B minor
Gaia (harp) impressively performed Au bord du ruisseau from memory
Hannah (cello) concluded the concert with her haunting performance of Faure’s Elergy
Stunning playing once again from these talented young musicians.
