On Monday 13th January, College was lucky enough to welcome Bishop Rachel, who serves as both the Bishop of Gloucester and the Bishop to HM Prisons, to speak to A Level students of Politics and GCSE students of Religious Studies.
The Bishop had lunch in Elizabeth House with the Politics students, after which in the Elizabeth drawing room they discussed Lords reform in the House of Lords and her role as a political figure.
The Bishop then spoke to our UC4 Religious Studies students in the Council Room about her role as Bishop to HM Prisons, which ties in well with their topic of Crime and Punishment. The Bishop focused her talk on the importance of balancing justice and mercy when considering punishment and reform.
