Each year, students can take part in the Reading With Your Pets Photography Competition.
As you can imagine, this is THE toughest competition to judge in the whole observable universe. We so wish we didn’t have to choose between them. This year again, all photos were brimful of joy and love – and there were soooo many good books too!
Alas, we had to decide on the Top 3, and so the (six!) 2025 winners are:
Octavia and her donkeys Hazel and Toffee reading The Usborne Illustrated Odyssey
Fafa and her guinea pig Maxy reading Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women
There are lots of joint third places, in no particular order:
Alexandra’s dog Isla reading Shakespeare in front of the fire (captivated by the verse, we’re told!)
Georgia and her dog Murray enjoying some of Agatha Christie’s Appointment with Death
Mrs Brown and her two spaniels
And last, but by no means least, Saskia’s bunny Coco, reading Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre
Well done to all winners – pets and people alike! They will be immortalised in the new library jigsaw puzzle with the image below. We cannot wait for it to arrive!
Here are some of the other brilliant entries:
Many thanks again to everyone who sent in their photos – we loved them all! They will be on display in the Marble Corridor until the end of term.
