In May 2024, a small group of SFC1 German and Politics students took part in a trip to Berlin. All participants greatly enjoyed exploring the city’s rich history and thriving cultural scene.
From visits to numerous museums, including the Stasi Museum and Anne Frank Zentrum, we also enjoyed a range of free elements, for example Berlin's street art and the curious mix of historic and modern architecture, including landmark buildings like the Reichstag and modern structures such as the Sony Centre at Potsdamer Platz.
We also indulged in Berlin's diverse food scene, reflecting its multicultural population. From traditional German dishes to international cuisine, the city's culinary offerings cater to all tastes. We tried the famous currywurst and doner kebabs, as well as delicious cinnamon buns, ice cream and baklava.
Known for its open-mindedness and inclusivity, Berlin is a welcoming city for people of diverse backgrounds and lifestyles, making it a must-visit destination for people from around the world. We enjoyed meeting students from Diesterweg Gymnasium to find out about school life in Berlin and to enhance our language skills.
Overall, it was a fabulous and certainly enriching trip
