Dance

Before the summer holiday a number of dancers completed their RAD exams, as a cohort there were 12 distinctions, 25 high merits, 5 merits and 6 class award passes were achieved - well done to all.

Well done to Penelope, who during the summer holidays dedicated a week to an exam intensive at the RAD headquarters in London, after which she took her Advanced Foundation exam and passed with merit.

Congratulations to Xuan Xuan for her outstanding performances over the summer break, securing the highest marks in three competitions and finishing in the top 2 at the ASAA Dance Cup.

Bella competed in the Global Dance Challenge and earned a silver award for her impressive performance and Audrey and Hasadia spent four weeks at a full-time dance intensive at the Jean Wong School of Dance in Hong Kong, ending in two exceptional performances.

Cricket

Congratulations to Helena for her outstanding achievements in cricket over the summer. She not only played numerous matches with the U18 team and trained with the women’s team but also received the U18 Girls Coach's Award.

Lacrosse

A big congratulations to Sophia, who represented Hong Kong at the U20 World Lacrosse Championships in August. She played alongside Guild members Aurora and Eloise. Aurora made a remarkable impact by scoring the first goal in their opening match, shortly after receiving her A-level results. This achievement continues a family tradition, as her sister Eloise opened the scoring for Hong Kong in 2019.

Guild member Phoebe Thornett earned her first senior cap at the April Home Internationals. Despite balancing her university exams at Edinburgh, she continued her training and contributed to Scotland’s bronze medal performance at the Europeans.

Additionally, congratulations to Guild member Lauren Lewis, who will be representing England at the first Women’s Box Lacrosse Championships.

Netball

At the start of the summer, Ella Everett-Morris and Tobi Adejuwon were selected to represent Severn Stars for the U15 School Games Long Squad. Unfortunately, Tobi started the summer with an injury, which we wish her a speedy recovery for! Ella went on to then be selected, one of the twelve U15 players, to play in the National School Games in Loughborough. Ella also played in the U19 NPL tournament squad and this past weekend, went for selection for the U19 England Roses squad - a fantastic achievement.

Pre-season Training

From Friday 30th August to Tuesday 3rd September, 60 UC5-SFC2 and then 70 LC2-UC4 pupils took part in the Pre-season training camp.

The programme involved a wide range of activities throughout, including early morning running on Cleve Hill, a nutrition practical, a feedback session, sport specific activities, training, tournaments, guest coaches, strength and conditioning, pizza night, s’mores, quizzes, and movies.
