House Rowing had a fantastic atmosphere last Monday (03/02/25). After a quick crash course by our senior rowers, the Junior Houses were ready for a 2000 metre sprint. In first place was St Mags, closely followed by Glenlee. In the senior event, a combination team of Glengar and St Clare took the win in a nail biting last 100metres, closely followed by Glenlee. A massive well done to everyone who took part.

An exciting afternoon for our new sport that we have launched at CLC: Pickleball!
We welcomed 12 David Lloyd players into the HFC where we played fun yet competitive matches against the David Lloyd team.
We had 12 players including Ms Keller. The CLC students were thrown into the deep end but picked up the fundamentals of the game quickly. Well done for displaying courage and giving a new sport a try.
Last week a group of LC3 and UC4 girls represented CLC at the Indoor Lady Taverners Cricket Tournament.
The first round saw the team meet two tough opponents and it was a learning experience for the team.
Our takeaways from the games were to collectively believe in their ability and to take calculated risks.
Last week in netball, our LC1 and LC2 girls played against Cheltenham College Prep, in midweek matches. The girls played brilliantly in competitive and close matches, all played in great spirits.
Over the weekend of the 8th February, we played RGS in a block fixture. All girls went into their matches with resilience and determination, and we came away with some outstanding team performances.
A particular well done to our U15As who stormed the court with an impressive 33-10 win. A huge well done to all those involved in netball over the weekend.
Another busy Saturday (8th February) of lacrosse at CLC with six age groups playing against Phoenix Lacrosse Club and Rendcomb College in well matched, competitive games.
The U13 and U14 teams were the standout stars of the day with excellent application of our concept of the week - possession.
Our basketball team played against Warwick University's Chinese Women’s team on Saturday 8th February.
Both sides matched each other in tempo, and determination. The energy on the court and the spirit of competition made it a memorable outing.
The team continues to grow stronger, building momentum for future games.
We were tremendously fortunate to host Dr Don Vinson, the current England U16 Girls Head Coach for two sessions on Saturday 8th February. Don worked with a group from LC1, LC2, LC3 and our seniors challenging us to work on similar content to the national programmes around goal scoring and dynamic first touch.
On Tuesday 4th February, over 25 girls participated in two football matches against Cheltenham College.
Both games were played in fantastic spirit, as the girls demonstrated excellent teamwork. The girls passed accurately to maintain possession and supported each other in both attack and defence to create several goal scoring opportunities. A special mention to both Anya (SFC1), Mofe (SFC1) and Bea (UC5) who were awarded Player of the Match.
Elke Hammerstein who left CLC in 2023 was racing in the FIS world junior cross country skiing competition this week. At age 19 she raced up a category in the Under 23s and on Sunday raced in the U23 mixed relay team.
This was the first ever GB mixed U23 relay at the world juniors competition! They came 10th out of 20, which is an amazing result for a team that can't be on snow!
