Athletics

This half term, College had five athletes representing Cheltenham Schools at the County Championships.

SFC1 Tomi started the events with a stellar effort in the 400m. UC5 Mofe showcased versatility by competing in three events: the 300m, long jump, and javelin. LC3 Jojo participated in both jump events, progressively improving her long jump distance, a feat also achieved by SFC1 long jumper Maayan. UC4 Charlotte competed in the 200m, displaying real determination and securing a close third place and a place in the County Team for the Regional Championships.

Charlotte travelled to Exeter over the Exeat weekend for the South West Championships and gave a gritty performance in the final.

Well done all; we look forward to seeing everyone in action for House Athletics on Saturday 29th June.

Cricket

Last Saturday saw three cricket teams take to the field to play hardball in the sunshine.

The U13s played a T20 v Kings Gloucester, demonstrating their clear love for the game. During the afternoon U15s hosted and played Woldingham School from Surrey who were in Cheltenham on a weekend tour. The team put their best foot forward and after some impressive batting from birthday girl Helena, they put in an outstanding performance in the field.

The U14 team relished the opportunity to play a hardball pairs game against local club side Cheltenham Cricket Club where there was a super display of risk taking and boundary shots.

Well done to all the competitors who took part in both the mothers and daughters and the second for fathers and daughters. It is a wonderful event, played in great spirit with lots of laughter and brilliant points being played out.

This year the students in the finals were Seraphina (LC1) and her mother playing Sophia (SFC1) and her mother and Serena (LC3) and her father playing Laura (SFC1) and her father.
