Senior House Climbing
A squad of 20 senior girls travelled to Clifton College for their first football fixture of the season on Tuesday 21st January.
The defence worked tirelessly to put pressure on their attack, making crucial tackles to prevent several scoring opportunities from the opposition. In attack, the girls demonstrated excellent control on and off the ball, as they worked well as a unit to create several shooting opportunities.
The game was played in excellent spirit on and off the pitch and there was an environment of encouragement and mutual respect.
A special mention to Laura who scored a fantastic goal and Anya who made her debut in goal and was awarded player of the match.
Last week, we had some superb mid-week senior netball fixtures against The Crypt School. The girls fought valiantly against competitive sides, displaying amazing enthusiasm, intensity, and determination throughout.
Two brilliant games and well-deserved wins for both of our squads. A special mention goes to senior 1st team player Bea Nicholson who played on her 18th birthday and also to Poppy Williams, normally our defender who stepped up to play goal shooter! Well done to all!
A number of CLC lacrosse players participated in the South West U18 and U15 trials.
The U18 squad players are Christie, Cameron, Sophia, Gabriella, Charlotte and the U15 squad players are Eliza and Alice.
All the girls have been invited to return for further training and final selections ahead of the end of season Regional Tournament in March. We also have senior players regularly training with local club sides on weekday evenings and weekends.
Congratulations to all our players who continue to pursue lacrosse outside of the school environment!
