Well done to Hannah (LC2) who ran in the Junior Cross Country Championships at Newent Community School on Sunday. She came 14th which was a great achievement.

House Table Tennis

Another fantastic display of table tennis last week at the Junior House Competition. It was a very high standard and we all enjoyed watching Regina and Sophie have a competitive and very close final against each other. Well done to everyone who took part.

Cheltenham Challenge Cup

Our senior and U15 swimmers participated in the 1st round of the Cheltenham Challenge Cup against Dean Close and Cheltenham College. Right from the start, the team demonstrated remarkable determination and spirit in their swims. This resulted in an impressive total of 14 new personal bests, and Chizzy's outstanding form continued for a second week, breaking the LC2 50m backstroke record. The team set a strong points position as they head into the 2nd round in the spring. Congratulations to everyone, and a special acknowledgement to the following individuals for setting new personal bests. Well done!

Badminton

The U18 Badminton teams played Marling School recently with two teams playing a mixture of singles and doubles in many different combinations. The matches were extremely close. Well done to all those who participated.

Congratulations to Annie who played in for Gloucestershire in U17 against Worcestershire and won her singles, mixed and two doubles matches.

Squash

Congratulations to CLC squash players who competed against Westgate School in the Squash National Schools competition. The games were very close and we just lost out by three matches to two, but showed great determination and our confidence is growing.

Tennis

The U18B Tennis team of Tessa, Beth, Zoe and Gia played against a very strong Dean Close A team in the LTA Year 11-13 Schools event. The next match will be against Caerleon School in a few weeks.

Volleyball

The Volleyball team were one of the only teams in action last Saturday due to the poor weather. Players were excited to welcome members from local volleyball clubs (Stroud and Cheltenham). They were put through their paces by coach Robin. The girls acquitted themselves well as they mixed in with the club players. Well done to all of the girls that stepped up, learnt something new and challenged themselves.

Hockey

The U12 team kicked off the last exeat weekend with a busy Friday morning on the hockey pitch competing at the County tournament. It was fantastic to see the team grow in confidence, knowledge and ability to dictate as a team. Well done to all and look forward to seeing you all back on a hockey pitch soon.

Golf

On Thursday, the CLC Golf Team competed against King's Worcester in the second round of the Independent Schools Golf Plate. A team consisting of Emma, Regina and Tilly battled freezing conditions to play some courageous golf. The team beat King's Worcester by eight shots and will now face St Edward's Oxford after Christmas in the final of the area rounds.

Santa Scavenger Hunt

'Twas a merry sight on Field this Saturday as Lower College students hustled and bustled on their very own Santa's Scavenger hunt. Hats off to all for unwrapping those clues with festive flair!
