In our latest edition of Forum42: Three Humans on a Sofa, Mr Hawley, Dr Webb, and Miss Constantine came together to discuss the question: “Is there a beat behind breakthroughs?”
The session aimed to explore the value of music and to consider whether or not it can play a part in scientific and intellectual breakthroughs. The discussion became rather philosophical at times, but also recognising the pure joy that music brings into our lives.
The benefits of playing as well as listening to music were explored and in a nod to Sustainability Week, the panel was asked whether pop stars’ use of private jets can be justified to maintain in-person concerts.
The event was a huge success and the audience was gripped throughout. Thank you to our Forum 42 reps and the teachers for organising, chairing, and participating in the event.
