November saw the return of Three Humans on a Sofa. Members of staff from the History of Art, RS & Philosophy, and History & Politics Departments discussed the question: “Should Art Always Be Viewed Through the Lens of Context?”
It was a fascinating exploration of the topic, allowing us all to reflect on how we perceive artwork; what counts as artwork; and whether the artist and their original intention matters when discerning the value of art. Thank you to Mrs Porter, Dr Beard, and Dr Parker for taking part!
