Saturday 1st March saw an awe-inspiring concert in the Parabola Arts Centre featuring our wonderful Upper College Music Scholars. Fourteen terrific performances showcased an extremely wide range and styles of music performed at the highest level.
The concert started with a wonderful arrangement for piano and bass of Sonny Rollins’ St Thomas, performed by Lily (UC4), before we were all taken on a journey through many of the musical periods with works from J S Bach, Mozart, Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Puccini, Kreisler, Wolf – the list goes on.
The UC girls were a fantastic audience, and relished in the realisation of what a huge privilege it was to be listening to such good performances given by their peers.
A huge thank you to the accompanists – Mr Keir, Mr Carr, Miss Fu and Mr Jones for their sterling efforts.
Mr Lloyd, Director of Music
