In July, 40 UC4 students went to Nice to get to know the city, improve their French and relax after a demanding school year.
They stayed in pairs and threes with French families, with whom they had breakfast and dinner. In the mornings we went on a variety of excursions and in the afternoons there was French tuition in a language school.
On the first day we went to the lovely village of Antibes, where we visited the small Picasso museum which had some interesting pictures and superb views of the Mediterranean. We went on a walking tour of old Nice ending up in a rather impressive confiserie where many bought sweet presents for their families and themselves.
Another highlight was the trip to Eze where we visited the Fragonard perfumery and had a guided tour, learning about how different fragrances are made. The shop there benefited from our patronage too.
Lessons were fun, full of games and good conversational activities.
The weather was perfect and Nice looked as gorgeous as ever. The students had a fabulous time and many are planning return trips to show the city to their parents.
