Granada is a city in southern Spain’s Andalusia region, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain. It’s known for grand examples of medieval architecture dating to the Moorish occupation, especially the Alhambra.
On Wednesday 1st November, 34 UC4 and UC5 linguists travelled to Granada via Malaga and enjoyed four days of language and cultural immersion in this magical city. Our group enjoyed lessons in a local school, took part in a Flamenco workshop, explored the city thanks to our two guides and took part in a treasure hunt. They also enjoyed a trip to la Ciudad de las Ciencias in the outskirts of the city. On Friday, we finally visited Alhambra. This sprawling hilltop fortress complex encompasses royal palaces, serene patios, and reflecting pools from the Nasrid dynasty, as well as the fountains and orchards of the Generalife gardens. We loved our time there and made many lasting memories of this unforgettable place and the five days we shared in Granada.
